Since 2013, Adam has run an annual entrepreneurship competition to encourage young people to step forwards with their innovative ideas.

In 2016, the brand evolved into #AdamStart, an innovative and youth-led initiative which promotes youth entrepreneurship globally.

The competition launched during Global Entrepreneurship Week and attracted hundreds of applications from over 30 countries around the world. Young people stepped forward with business ideas from agriculture solutions in Africa through to food waste recycling in Europe.

19-year-old Walid Ijassi from Morocco walked away with the top prize for his business POMM'it, which recycles unused apples and creates cider vinegar products. His products are already stocked across the country and since winning the competition he has become a national hero for young people, lauded by the press and now involved in a number of youth entrepreneurship projects.

The competition reached over 350,000 people in 24 hours across international media and received celebrity support across social media in congratulations for the winner. The initiative was also applauded by the Secretary of State for Business in the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Theresa May's office.
